Closet Crush

So everyone knows that I really love fashion so today I want to do a “closet crush”, my closets nice, it’s a standard closet for a master bedroom but it’s just not beg enough! Not only have I kicked my husband’s clothes out of our master bedroom closet which he now keeps them in the guess bedroom but I have also had to take over 3 other closets in our home just to house my clothing and shoe collection.

Anyway, I love my closet but here are a few other closets that I have fallen in love with!

VIdeo Monday and Inspiration of the Day

Happy Monday!

So most of you know that my blog focuses on things that inspire me in life! Today’s blog is about how God has worked in the lives of 2 young women! He changed the life of one model and through her tragedy; she clung to her faith and saw the good that God was bringing out of the pain! Then there is Gabby Douglas, Olympian Gold Medal Winner who openly professes her love for God!

I’m so excited to talk about 2 young girls who have been blessed so much by God and instead of doing what most people do with fame; they stayed strong in their faith and let God shine through them!
The first girl is a native to Virginia, Gabby Douglas who just participated and won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in London! She is also the first American gymnast to win the gold medal in the individual and team women’s all-around competitions at the same Olympics. Gabby is the first African-American woman to be the individual all-around champion! All I see here are blessings from God pouring into her life!

Our second inspirational story: Last year, model & author Lauren Scruggs walked into helicopter blade while it was still spinning. She lost her eye and one of her hands but through this pain, God proved he is a loving God and brought Lauren to where she is today, stronger than ever in her faith!
Lauren continues to see life as an inspiration; she is a fashion blogger and recently wrote her first novel.
Girls, if you want a role model, both these girls are defiantly at the top of my list!
Watch the video of her first interview since the accident.

Back In The Saddle...

So I have not posted anything since June and that’s mainly because I have been going through a lot of stuff since then! Most of it has been good, let’s take a roll call to everything that has happened lately.

I was officially baptized in April and that totally brought forth so many wonderful changes in my life, I transformed my way of thinking, my priorities and my relationship with Jesus! I almost gave up blogging all together but have since consulted my Mom and have decided to reorganize my blogs focus. If you have ever read my About page then you probably know that I have always claimed to love Jesus but now I plan to incorporate my love for Him into this blog, how great is that! Love it or leave it, I don’t really care. This is me and I will not apologize!  You can expect some major changes to my blog very soon!

Next I finally graduated (with honors, just joking but I did have a high GPA) in June so I’ll post some pictures of that! I was so excited and happy but mostly relieved to finally close that chapter of my life! It was a long time coming, let me tell you! Now, with all my free time I have been concentrating on  my volunteer work and I’m also about to begin working with children at my church in the AWANA program, I'll finish up the training next Saturday. And I can update my blog more often!

My family came for my graduation and to visit the DC area for a week and that was pretty fun, it was their first time here so I did the whole tour guide thing and we really had a blast!I We did a lot of site-seeing and even though I live here, I got to visit some places I hadn't been.

After they left, I went on a few vacations, all domestic but nonetheless, still worthwhile! I just came back from Las Vegas, (since I don’t drink or gamble I spent my days sitting by the pool reading!) Then it was off to New Orleans for a few days. I’ll try to post some pictures of my trips soon. New Orleans is definitely an interesting city but to be honest, I’ll probably never go back! It really wasn't for me!

So that’s it for now!

Happy New Year to you all! I can't believe I made it to 2012! It seems like just yesterday that I was 15 and thinking I was living the life, now I'm 30 and still think I'm living the life!!

Anyway, there have been so many changes in this New Year that it's crazy and hard to keep track of them all! I wanted to highlight a few changes that are really cool or really important to me so here we go... Oh and since it's Tasty Tuesday over at iblog4me, I'll be posting a yummy recipe below:

2 Major Changes for 2012:

1.) I totally revamped my personal website, changing the look, name and other features and I'm totally excited about the new look and feel of it all! Check it out here: House of Glamm

2.) One of my favorite sites did a total revamping and I love it! It's taking some practice to get use to the news settings and features but it looks great, and I'm totally excited about it! Check it out: iblog4me

So that's it for major website changes but, later I'll post an entry with my New Years Resolutions which are changes in themselves... If you want to see them now, go to my site: here

Now for a yummy comfort food recipe: borrowed from Paula Dean
Crock Pot Mac & Cheese

I love comfort food as much as the next girl and when it has cheese and noodles, well just throw a bib on me and call it a day!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. 1
Boil the macaroni in water for six minutes. Drain.
  2. 2
In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts.
  3. 3
In slow cooker, combine cheese mixture and add the eggs (I omitted the eggs), sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper. Add the drained macaroni and stir again.
  4. 4
Cook on low for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Winter In New York City...

Wow, I can hardly believe that it's almost 2012!! The year seems to have flown by but at the same time, I'm really looking forward to a new start, starting fresh and doing so much better! I can't wait to see what this New Year has in store for me! Typically I'd already have my New Year Resolutions posted by now but I've been terribly lazy on my time off and have not really been blogging nearly as much as I typically do. I may have to post them later tomorrow, which is still fine.

So a few days ago (Thursday) we decided to go to New York just for a little day trip so I have some great pictures to share of Time Square, Rochafella Center and some other jems that I found in the city! It was really cold and some people were predicting snow but we lucked out and made it before that happened.

 Photo of Time Square

Look at the needle point on the top of the photo where the ball will drop in a few hours.

Stage Platform Where Ryan Seacrest will broadcast Live

We ate at one of your regular spots that we normally go to when were in New York (Bubba Gumps) which happens to be right across from Time Square so we got a great view of them setting up for the ball drop and the stage platform where Ryan Seacrest will broadcast live.

Rockafella Center has one of the largest Chritmas Trees in the City and is beautful at night. Though my poor husband was freezing his lil bum off, he forged ahard so I could get my pictures (thanks babe)!

Giant Christmas Lights! These babies were bigger than me!

These Giant Christmas tree bulbs were right outside Radio City Music Hall which is ledgedary in itself!

Giant Christmas Tree outside Rockafella Center! Look at all those people! This tree has been in so many movies!

Saw these Disnay characters on 49th Street!

Heading back to the car, nothin' but a sea of people! We had to puch our way through the think crowds!!

Time Square Billborads! I heart NYC!!

Legs of The infamous "Naked Cowboy" This guy has been around since I was 15!!

On the walk there we were told to talk 49th street because there were giant Christmas decorations  on display and were also nice to photograph.

Happy New Year Everyone!
